Mr. Pona is founder and president of BioPharm Associates LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated leadership in developing global project organizations/teams and business alliances, reducing time/costs to market, proactively managing change in a high growth corporation, cross cultural sensitivity, and human capital alignment.
From 2001 to 2008 he was head of Global Project Planning at Eisai where he implemented and grew a local regional entity to a global project planning organization responsible for the management of the global clinical R&D project portfolio. In 2000-2001 he was an independent consultant with the Quantic Group working with a major pharmaceutical company under a consent decree. From 1978 to 2000 Joe was with Hoffmann LaRoche where he held various leadership positions in R&D, operational and project management.
Mr. Pona has a Bachelor of Engineering degree, and graduated with honors from Stevens Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, BioPharmaPM, and DIA. Joe is a Vietnam Era veteran having served with the US Army. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees, Business Development/Alliances Chairman for ChemPharma® a professional network of chemical/pharmaceutical executives and on the Board of Advisors for Consultants2Go a marketing consulting company.
